International Institute for Social Entrepreneurs

2012 IISE Pre Application Form

The IISE started as a dream for Paul Kronenberg and Sabriye Tenberken back in 2005 and came into existence with its first batch in January 2009. Their 12-year experience in running Braille without Borders in Tibet (TAR) paved the way to realize their dreamproject, the International Institute for Social Entrepreneurs. This project is set on the banks of a fresh water lake in Kerala – better known as God's own country and it has become a platform to share knowledge and practical experience with other socially conscious dreamers.

The IISE welcomes participants over 22 years of age who have overcome significant life challenges ranging from vision impairment, disability, poverty, war, discrimination, and exploitation. They could also just be witnesses to social situations they wish to change so others do not suffer. They should have a passion to make the world a better place and the strength to be forces of good rather than be victims of circumstance.

With classes beginning on 1 July 2012, IISE's 7 month program will help participants develop all necessary skills to succeed as social innovators/entrepreneurs. Workshops and hands-on practice in the areas of management, public speaking, communication, leadership, fund raising, budgeting, book-keeping, project proposal writing, marketing, public relations, computing with open software technology and others give IISE's participants all the necessary tools to start their own social projects.

To ensure high quality training the IISE accommodates a maximum of 30 participants per academic year who are chosen through a stringent 5-step selection process.

The IISE dream that became a plan and then a project hopes to create or rather enhance credible and effective leaders for positive social change across the world. Our 7 month experiential program driven by professional catalysts helps them set up social projects that improve the quality of life for the marginalized or oppressed people all over the globe.
